Some Good Products to Share With You

Posted by JacQ

We just want to share with everyone a few of the new products we bought that works and we love!

First of all. We love our new scooter – Piaggio Fly 150. It has been working like a charm and we have gotten 54/mpg with both of us on it and running around town at average of 45/mph. Five times more fuel efficient than our truck! Though it has been really cold so we might stop running around with it so much~

The second item is our new bike rack – YAKIMA Locking BedHead. It is easy to use and saves us truck bed space while securing both of our bikes on there. See photos below showing after we installed the racks.

The third item is our new mountain bike cover – CUCKOO COVERS’®! This one-piece stretchable cover gives bicycles complete protection against rain, dirt, wind and small rocks. They have designed different versions to fit your particular type of rack system and bike size! Check them out! We bought the Cuckoo Fork Mount / Mountain Bike Cover for each of our bikes. Fits like a glove! We also bought the Cuckoo Wheel Bag so our front tires are protected when the bikes are mounted on the rack.

The only disappointing thing is that one of the Wheel Bags’ handle came off when I lifted the bag after we put the tire in it. Read the rest of this entry »

loving our second new scooter! 新買的機車

Some of you already knew our painful experience of buying a China-made scooter online. This is definitely something that we learned the hard way. Unless you are a mechanic or know someone who is extremely comfortable with fixing scooter/bikes, DON’T BUY CHEAP SCOOTERS ONLINE. You will end up spending more time and money trying to get it to work. Just like we did.

So we did more research and decided European scooters will probably work out better for us. With Jeremy’s sexy long legs, Asian scooters are just not a good fit.

We saw a beautiful scooter in front of a Dunkin Donuts in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It is the Aprilia Mojito 150. It looks solid and seems to be the right size for Jeremy to ride in. We think that is a good direction to go! So we found a dealer in Ft. Lauderdale that carries Aprilia Mojito 150 Aprilia Mojito 150 - click to enlargeand decided to stop by and see if we can learn more about this scooter. Another thing we learned from the previous purchase experience is that; you definitely want to test drive before you buy. Get a feel of how it handles, does it fit your body and riding style. All very important things to consider when buying a scooter or a motorcycle, just like buying a car.

After talking to the salesperson there. We knew this new direction is going to be much more expensive, but it would be a good one. We thought that we will wait till we have more money saved up and then make the new purchase.

Little to our surprise. We were driving around Alamo Heights the next day we came back to San Antonio, we saw a Vespa Store and decided to go check it out. Since we kind of like the retro look anyways. Read the rest of this entry »

Brand new rollerblades

Posted by JacQ

After couple of months of Jeremy training me how to rollerblade properly – learning how to stop without running into stuff. We bought ourselves brand new pairs of skates!

We had been going up to Austin every other weekend to rollerblade at the Veloway. This is Austin’s first trail exclusively for bicycles and rollerblading. No hikers or pets allowed. This is the perfect place to learn rollerblading and biking without worrying about street traffic, children running around and such. Also, this trail is a clockwise, one-way, two-lane trail, so you won’t have any problem running into others. If you are faster, stay on the left lane, if you are beginner and slower, stay on the right lane. This awesome 3.1 mile winding paved trail is free to all bikers and rollerbladers!

Here’s my K2 Alexis Fitness Inline Skates. You can read about it’s review here. Really is a nice reward for working hard to learn proper skating techniques :) !
