Setting Up Mail Forwarding Service With Escapees RV Club

Posted by JacQ

We joint Escapees RV Club last December after we bought the RV. Mainly because most full timers recommended them as a good club to join and that it offers great mail forwarding service for those who want to base in Texas.

We filled out the needed paper work and got the 1583 Form filled and notarized at an UPS location. This mail forwarding service is only available to the Escapees RV Club members.

You will need two forms of ID that both has your signature on it and at least one with your photo on it. They would want photos copies of those. The instruction is pretty easy to follow, and they have very friendly staff that will answer your questions over the phone. They do not take fax applications, so you will need to either mail it in or go to their office.

Camping at Escapee's Rainbows End in Livingston, TXWe decided to drive out to Livingston, Texas in our RV to visit their headquarter and sign up for the mail forwarding service. As expected the staff was pleasant and they got us signed up and ready to go~

Then we went to the Escapees Rainbow’s End RV Park right next to the office and got a pull through site. One night pull through site for us, Escapees RV Club member, was only $14.50 + electricity! Not bad! They have wifi, but it is not free.

We had thunderstorm the next morning, so we waited till it stopped to get stuff packed away and take off. Overall, it was a decent campground and we won’t mind camping at another Rainbow’s End when we come across one.

  2. I’ve used the Escapees Mail Service since 1992 have been very happy with it. There haven’t been too many goofs- and all but one or two were the fault of USPS.

It’s an excellent club. I recommend it.

How often do you get your mail from Escapee’s? How often do you change your location?

We travel with work and move about every 2 to 2 1/2 months. We have maybe 2 more years of work but are getting ready to sell our home and need the mail service. Can you help me? We have property in Texas but will be renting that out until we finish work.

    Thanks for any help.

  4. Dear Elba,

    Sorry about my late response.

There are different options you can set up with Escapees to forward your mail.

We do an on demand kind of thing, so we just let them know whenever we want the mail forwarded to us. Sometimes we wait for 2 weeks, sometimes one week. There are options for them to automatically forward your mail weekly or monthly.

We travel from place to place at roughly a monthly basis. Sometimes we stay for 2 months too. If you are not staying at any spot at a long period of time, I would recommend doing the on demand option. And also I would highly recommend telling Escapees to forward your mail with USPS Priority Mail, it takes about 2-3 days to get to you and you will have a tracking number. The post office had lost one of our forwarded mail once and we did not use Priority Mail so there was no way to track it. It is more expensive, but it is definitely worth it.

If we travel from place to place on a weekly basis. We normally would ask them to forward the mail a day or two before you arrive the campground and let the campground staff know that you have mail coming and might arrive before you do. They normally are pretty good with that.

And if you are traveling for a while and not staying longer than a week at most places. I would just wait till you are. Plus, you can always call Escapees to check your mail for you if you are waiting on any particular piece of mail. They will even open the mail and read it to you if you need that.

Escapees’ staff is very helpful. But I find going to their Livingston office to sign up is much better than mailing the application. That is how we did it.

Hope this is helpful to you. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer~
