Tonight, we discovered an awesome musician, thanks to Donna, who invited us to join her and Cindy to attend a concert at One World Theater in Austin, TX.

The performers were Vienna Teng and Alex Wong.

We were blown away by Vienna’s enchanting voice and her refreshing lyrics. Her music style is not one that you categorize to any particular genre. I would say it is a wonderful mix of well thought out arrangements, using the perfect style to compose the story she would like to tell. I love it. It is pure, honest and leaves you wanting more. Her soundscape is one that you can let go and really experience in. It has a smooth, dream-like quality that transport you to a peaceful place. Her personality seems to be as honest and approachable as her music. I wish there was more time so I can ask her more questions and share stories. I wish we can catch one of her future shows for more of her beautiful music!

Alex Wong and her are working together to roll out a new album, which is to be released this April. I can’t wait to get it. Alex’s style definitely works beautifully with Vienna’s.

I have learned that her family was originally from Taiwan, too! Made in Taiwan like me! And I saw her play Green Island Serenade (綠島小夜曲) on YouTube. It reminded me of my grandma singing it to me when I was little as a lullaby… it brought me to tears.
