Started the day having breakfast at MartAnne’s Burrito Palace.
We spent the day exploring Campbell Mesa Trails. Tessa get to test out her new bike and we got lots of good food and good laugh to finish the day~ Good times.
Last year when we were staying at the Scottsdale/Tempe area for two weeks, I noticed a cute tiny drive through/coffee shop tucked away on Scottsdale Rd just south of Thomas. I have been wanting to go there but never really had the chance.
So last month, I was able to stop by during breakfast after I dropped off Jeremy at work for something to get my day started.
It was a good call!
I was greeted with a casual smile and relax tone. I have to be honest, that I was a little overwhelmed by the menu. There were surprisingly a lot more items on there than I anticipated.
After a few minutes of looking things over, I decided to order a small dirty chai and a Low-Carb Breakfast – Hash patty, two eggs, pepper jack cheese, tomato, avocado & pesto, served on a bed of organic spring mix greens with balsamic vinaigrette – $6.
I actually really liked their pesto sauce, it was not too overpowering so I can enjoy the flavors of each individual ingredient. Like their menu suggested, it was a “balanced” item, on both the ingredients and flavors.
It was a real good portion and yummy! I would probably order the eggs less done next time, I like my yolks runny~
The second time, I came back here with Jeremy. I told him that this little place reminded me of a couple of places we liked in Moab, Utah. The staff seems to really know their customers and remember what the regular customers liked. Also a big bonus for me is that they will occasionally address their customers with “Sir” and “My Lady.” Puts a BIG smile on my face~
I ordered California Club the second time I was here and I loved it! The ingredients were well balanced and the freshly toasted artisan bread was the perfect softness and firmness for you to bite into it.
Jeremy ordered the House Style Frittata. It was really good. This was Jeremy’s first time here and thought it was awesome and he has went back to d’lish more than I have now.
I most recent visit there, I ordered the Veggie D’lite (Wrap) and Portobello Mushroom soup. Both were great, as usual, I have not had anything here that I did not like, which is rare. This is the reason why I normally try to visit one place more than three times before I write a full review about it.
There are a handful of parking spots surrounding the building just on the right hand side of the drive way. But I find myself liking the spot on the north side of the building the one right next to the sidewalk. Makes it easy to park and pull out our big truck.
They do have WiFi here if you want to hang out and work a little while you enjoy a cup of joe and some good food.
Check them out~
