Wolf Creek Ski Area

Posted by JacQ

This is our first visit at Wolf Creek Ski Area. I would have to say this is my new Loveland. Closer to us, lots of powder, no lines at the lifts. Love it!

We stayed at Alpine Inn in Pagosa Springs. Cute little hotel that has reasonable pricing for a suite with Jacuzzi & Fireplace. Our stay was only $69.99/night with AAA discount.

AZ Snowbowl

Posted by JacQ

We planned to go up to Salt Lake City and snowboard with our friend during the New Years Even weekend to welcome 2011. But came a snow storm which caused over 40 crashes along I-17, the only way for us to get to Salt Lake City. So we head to turn back and hope the highway opens again so we can snowboard in Arizona Snowbowl instead. The AZDOT crew cleared the road nicely and reopened the highway the next day afternoon. We headed back and hope to snowboard in lots of powder.

Oh, the condition was freezing… cold… and oh, so crowded. Last season, we came during the weekdays and hardly had to wait in line. The weather was always perfect, sunny skies, mid 30s. Today, we were welcomed with -2 degree temperature and serious amount of people waiting in line. By 11am, we decided to call it a day. We are too spoiled to be standing in line for 30-45 minutes in -2 degree weather.

However, we managed to get some nice still shots from our GoPro HD.

Arizona Snowbowl Take Two – video

Posted by JacQ

Our second time snowboarding at Arizona Snowbowl. Both times the condition was perfect! Sunny, mild temperature, snow was just right. This time, we tried out the terrain park. It was a blast! I finally did a few successful jumps and I also tried to ride the box once with success! Jeremy did the rails and the box, even ended the day with a nice 180 on the box (sorry, I did not catch that on film, maybe next time).
