We start the year 2012 by exploring the famous Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ. It was well worth the $18/person. I think I would love to come back in the Spring and Summer when the flowers are in full bloom!

Hiking Vulture Peak Trail – Wickenburg, AZ

Tessa suggested we hike Vulture Peak in Wickenburg, AZ. It took us a while to find the trailhead due to Google Maps GPS taking us through the wrong turn. (DO NOT TURN at Vulture Peak Trail). You should only turn when you see the brown sign saying “Vulture Peak Trail .5″. It was a great hike and we had lots of fun exploring Wickenburg after the hike. Though we did not have enough time to make it to the Vulture Mine. Maybe next time.

Wolf Creek Ski Area

This is our first visit at Wolf Creek Ski Area. I would have to say this is my new Loveland. Closer to us, lots of powder, no lines at the lifts. Love it!

We stayed at Alpine Inn in Pagosa Springs. Cute little hotel that has reasonable pricing for a suite with Jacuzzi & Fireplace. Our stay was only $69.99/night with AAA discount.
